В августе 2012 года Китай заказал 52 Ми-171E на общую сумму около $600 млн. ОАО «Рособоронэкспорт» и китайская компания Poly Technologies, Inc. подписали контракт на поставку в КНР 52 Ми-171Е. Первые 8 вертолетов планируется передать китайской стороне в 2012 году, остальные — в 2013 и 2014.
